Indiana Fertility Institute (IFI) is proud to welcome Dr. Christine E. Hur, MD, a highly trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, to our growing team. With expertise in advanced fertility treatments, reproductive surgery, and patient-centered care, Dr. Hur brings both scientific knowledge and personal empathy to every family she supports.
A Fertility Doctor Inspired by Women’s Health
Dr. Hur’s journey into reproductive medicine began with a deep fascination for women’s health. “I have always been drawn to women’s health due to a fascination with how amazing our bodies are,” she shares. “There is truly nothing more rewarding than getting to see people grow their families.”
As a former fertility patient, Dr. Hur understands how overwhelming and emotional the process can be. Her approach to fertility care is rooted in empathy. “I work to make recommendations based on scientific data. Although I know there is a huge emotional component of fertility treatment, I do not try to use this as a way to coerce people into non-scientifically backed treatments that could have potential risks and unnecessary costs,” she explains.

Expertise in Advanced Fertility Treatments
Dr. Hur completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Cleveland Clinic, where she also trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology. During her training, she received numerous honors for her teaching, surgical skill, and groundbreaking research.
Her published work covers a wide range of fertility topics — from uterine factor infertility to advanced reproductive surgery — and she has presented at national and international conferences, sharing innovative approaches to complex fertility challenges.

One area she is particularly excited about is in vitro maturation (IVM), an emerging treatment that allows eggs to mature in the lab. “It will be amazing to culture the eggs in the lab to minimize the amount of time and medications that patients have to endure,” she says. She also looks forward to advancements in treatments for recurrent implantation failure and ways to address the effects of ovarian aging on egg quality and quantity.
As a skilled fertility surgeon, Dr. Hur also has a passion for surgical innovation. “Being a reproductive surgeon can certainly be an art, and I love being able to share creative solutions to surgical problems,” she notes.
Supporting Patients Through the Emotional Journey of Infertility
At IFI, Dr. Hur is dedicated to treating the whole patient, not just the diagnosis, bringing a balance of scientific precision and human understanding to her work as a fertility specialist. She often reminds patients to prioritize their emotional well-being throughout the fertility journey: “Protect your heart/emotional wellbeing, however that may look. If you need to take space away from friends and/or family who may have trouble understanding what you need at that time, that is okay.”
Life Beyond the Clinic
Outside of her work with patients, Dr. Hur enjoys spending time with her partner, twin toddlers, and their Border Collie. Family walks, exploring new restaurants, and watching cooking shows are some of her favorite pastimes. A board game enthusiast, she logged hundreds of hours playing Settlers of Catan during the pandemic with her husband and friends across the country.
If she could instantly master any new skill, it would be gardening and cooking — two passions she hopes to grow in the future. What brings her the most joy, however, is watching her children explore and learn: “They see the world so much more simply than adults do, which is both refreshing and oftentimes hilarious.”
